Why is David Archuleta getting more publicity than David Cook?
Yeah I know statistically Archuleta is more popular but Shouldn’t the winner of American Idol get a song and video on tv before the runner up?
Isn’t that what the sponsorship is for?
I know, right!
David Cook just announced his Declaration Tour, and it got no acknowledgments. Well, none that I know of. I think David Cook deserves more credit, and I think people really under estimate him. A lot. He is my favorite artist in the entire world. Talented, sexy, and sweet. But it doesn’t seem like people really care, and that David Archuleta is getting a lot of credit for things.
I am not an Archuleta hater, just because I support Cook. I have to make that clear.

Wow, how old is your info here? You’re about 2 years behind and/or living on another planet. David Cook is waaaay more popular and successful than David Archuleta. Cook sold 1.3 million copies of his album, almost TWICE as many as Archie. Cook has 3 platinum (million seller) records, sold more than 3 million digital download singles, had 3 Top 10 hit singles on the radio, has had dozens of national TV appearances, has major footwear and guitar gear endorsement deals & advertisements, had his songs used in TWO Olympics, went on a 150-city headlining tour (meaning David Cook & his band were the STARS of the show) with a 96% sell rate (most shows were sold out), playing for from a few hundred to a few thousand to some festivals and fairs at 12,000 plus. Archie did some shows last summer as an opener for some pre-fabricated Disney princess and some of those shows had to be canceled because they couldn’t sell enough tickets. Cook is about to record his second album which will be out in the summer and has been working with top name rock song writers & producers. His new single is set to come out within the month. David Cook has grossed at least $25-30 million dollars in sales of music, concert tickets and merchandising over the last year and a half or so. Archie still lives with his mother.

i think it depends on the Recording Company?
Cook’s "The Time Of My Life" isn’t really an ‘official’ part of his REGULAR album, if u know what i mean. "TTOML" is only a part of his DELUXE version of his album…
it probably also depends on song requests on radio stations, and requests on TV shows to guest Archuleta…
as well as the looks (note that it’s a big thing these days), the age, the writers/producers (JC Chasez & Kara DioGuardi wrote songs for him, as well as Natasha Bedingfield’s brother Daniel Bedingfield, and i think Ryan Tedder too [?] )
btw, have u noticed that this is just like the same thing as Aiken’s and Katharine McPhee’s ?

Because David Archuleta is amazing!!! Well so is David Cook but Archuleta is young and cute. All the young girls love him! He has the sweet and innocent thing going for him and is just so sweet! Cook is older and more mature.

First of all, they have different managers and different record companies. I believe Cook’s management is 19E (the Idol parent), and Archuleta’s is Azoff.
Re publicity – Maybe Archuleta says "yes" to more gigs. David Archuleta has done a ton of charity things in the last few months. Archuleta also gets to do teen things like Disney parades and Radio Disney and Nickelodeon.
Re song and video on TV – The winner always has their coronation song as their first single, and Cook’s coronation single was released before Archuleta’s Crush. But yeah – no video for the coronation song. At that this point Archuleta has 2 singles and 2 videos, and Cook has 2 singles and 1 video.
BTW – Cook’s tour starts sooner and it lasts longer and I think Cook is doing slightly larger venues.

I can’t believe this…….I think Cook is getting way more of everything than Archuleta. Your all saying that Cook has made more money, sold more albums & singles, has longer tours to bigger venues, and on and on. I would say the writer shouldn’t be complaining……..Archuleta is the one that’s missing out.
