How can I land this marketing job?

I’ve landed an interview with a mortgage company as a "part-time marketing person" (that’s literally how they posted the ad). I have a tremendous amount of experience in office management & client services. My husband ran his own mortgage brokerage and I handled the majority of the marketing, so I have both mortgage & marketing experience, although probably not as much as a marketing professional with a degree. What are some interview questions I can expect, and what are some things I can say or point out to give me an edge to land this job?

Marketing is about thinking outside the box and creating new and original ideas. So you need to prove to them that you are able to do this. Make a list of examples where you created an original idea from scratch. Weather it be a small excel spreadsheet project or a full blown project. Give specific examples of your work. They use that information to decide weather you could successfully implement new ideas within their company.

Also the best piece of interview advice I could ever give…. prepare well thought out questions to ask the interviewer at the conclusion of the interview. This shows your interest, intrigue and passion for the position. Remember always show enthusiasm for what you do.

Good Luck!!
